Ralph Leslie Obituary

Ralph Alexander Leslie went to be with his Lord Jesus Christ on Monday June 18, 2018, at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center in New Middletown Ohio, after falling on Dec 31, 2015.

Ralph was born in Enon Valley on March 11, 1930, a son of Alexander and Martha (Stewart) Leslie.   He was a graduate of Mt. Jackson High School, Class of 1948. He married Audrey A. (Runk) Leslie on Feb. 29, 1952, who has been in heaven waiting for him since 2011.  Ralph was a life-long member of Bethel Evangelical Presbyterian Church, where he served as a trustee, 1967/68 and an elder for 5 terms between 1971 and 1998.  He was known for being a traveler, as a professional truckdriver, beginning with hauling milk in cans from area farms.  He hauled a variety of freight over the years as a member of the Teamsters Union, including coal, aviation gas and fuel to area gas stations. He retired from Chemical Lehman, Inc in the early 1990’s then continued driving part time for Gwin Trucking company in Mt Jackson, even after a severe car accident in 1994.  He traveled throughout the country with his wife, children and grandchildren over the years.  He enjoyed talking with people, helping other truckers, stranded motorists, and giving directions.  He, along with his wife, babysat grandchildren and great-grandchildren, frequently taking them out to eat or to get ice cream.  Time spent with his family and friends was a priority and a blessing.  He and Audrey were a part of 4 families who celebrated life together and enjoyed gathering their families together annually at a picnic on Memorial Day weekend, for over 50 years and has grown to include over 130 people!

Ralph is survived by: Rick Leslie, of Ann Arbor, Michigan, Pattie (Butera) Leicht, of New Middletown, Ohio, Beth Kissling and husband Tim, of Enon Valley, PA, Pat Leslie, of New Castle, PA and Bill McKim, of New Galilee, PA, 11 grandchildren and their spouses, and 7 great grandsons.  He is also remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews.
