Aurora - James Patrick Repasky, 56, passed away on Feb. 16, 2022
He was born on March 16, 1965, in Youngstown, Ohio, the beloved son of John J. Repasky and Patricia (Hudach) Repasky of Poland, Ohio.
Jim was a 1983 Salutatorian graduate of Springfield High School, was a member the National Honor Society, received a US Achievement Academy Science Award, Who’s Who Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Band, ICL Band (trumpet) and on the track team. He was also a Music/Administration Editor of Year Book Staff.
Jim was a 1987 graduate of Youngstown State University as a Valedictorian-Suma Cum Laude. He graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was number one in his class. He received the President’s Award for Academic Achievement. He was awarded the YSU President’s Scholarship, the Dean’s Scholarship, the National Assoc. of Accountant’s Award, the Distinguished Student in Business, in the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the Who’s Who. He had a BS in Business Administration, a Major in Accounting, a Minor in Management. He was a member of Alpha Tau Gamma Accounting Fraternity, Secretary of Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity. He organized and ran Alpha Kappa Psi’s Food & Clothing Drives, was in the Williamson Society, Marching Band (Trumpet) Centurians.
Jim was a Financial Control Manager, Retirement Plans with Parker Hannifin, Cleveland, Ohio, a Global Company with locations all over the world, which was when he moved to Aurora, Ohio. Prior to that, Jim worked for Commercial Intertech Corp, Youngstown, Ohio (a multi-national company) before it became part of Parker Hannifin. He had started out as an Internal Staff Auditor, then Benefits & Compensation Administrator. He was also a Certified Public Accountant.
Jim loved traveling, not only throughout the US & Canada, but also to Europe where he made business trips to the Parker Continental European Headquarters in Luxembourg (located between Germany, France, & Belgium). He used these opportunities to tour Paris, France: London, England, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, and Germany in his spare time. Jim was also a great fan of stock car races in his earlier years. He loved Amusement Parks and they always took first place in his vacation arrangements. His particular love was the roller coasters----the wilder, the better. He went all over the US to try them all. He also tried his hand at sky diving and parasailing.
Jim was preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, Andrew & Lillian (Shramo) Hudach; his Paternal Grandparents, John & Ethel (Palguta) Repasky; his Uncle Donald Repasky, his Aunt Jeannette (Repasky) Stumpo, as well as various other family aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jim leaves behind to cherish his memories by his deeply loving parents, his Aunt Martha Evans of Boardman, Uncle Ronald Hudach and “Aunt” Barbara Lastoria of New Castle, Pa, along with many loving cousins in Ohio, Pa, Ga, NYC, N. Carolina, and Indiana, as well as very special friends in Florida, S. Carolina, Ohio, and elsewhere throughout the country.
The family wants to thank the Cardiologists and Doctors at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, for all the help and care they have given Jim over the last 5 years
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Church at 10143 Main Street in New Middletown, OH 44442, on Monday, March 7, at 1:00 pm with calling hours from 12:30 pm to 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
