Services: Services will be held Friday at noon at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown for Willis T. Flickinger.

Visitation: Friends may call one hour before the service Friday from 11 a.m. to noon.

New Middletown - Willis T. Flickinger, 88, passed away Tuesday at the Briarfield Manor. Willis was born Feb. 18, 1920 in Poland, Ohio, a son of Earl A and Ruth F. Spitler Flickinger and lived in the area his whole life. He was a driver for the Mahoning Valley Supply Company for many years. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII. Willis was a member of the VFW Post #2799 in New Springfield, (also known as the Triangle Post), the Johnson Club of Hillsville, Pa., the Bessemer Croation Club and the American Legion Post #0638, both in Bessemer, Pa. He liked to watch birds and enjoyed animals, especially his dog, Maria. He married the former Virginia R. Diana on Jan. 16, 1942, who passed away on Sept. 30, 1987. He leaves three cousins, Linda (Jim) Ference of Mineral Ridge, Sharon Henry of Boardman and Robert Henry of Atlanta. Willis was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two infant sisters.
