Struthers – William J. Sheridan, 96, passed away at home on August 6, 2026.

William (Bill) was born on November 29, 1929, in Youngstown, the son of the late Geoffrey and Florence Sheridan.

Bill was a proud member of the United States Army serving as a paratrooper.

He was employed by the Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 28 years working most of his time in the Hot Strip as a Slab Pusher, then in the Seamless Pipe Mill until his early retirement.

Bill was a jokester at heart, always trying to get a laugh and a smile. Known for his pie baking abilities and his pizza making skills, the family was always guaranteed a fresh slice of apple pie with coffee or a late night pizza party to enjoy. Then there were the backyard “whiffle ball” games that sometimes ended up with broken windows which my Dad never complained about, it was all about having fun. An avid summertime vegetable gardener, the table was always filled with homegrown summertime treats.

Bill leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 73 years Lee (Bernard) Sheridan, sons Bill (Katie) Sheridan, Jim Sheridan and his companion of 23 years Mary Misier, and Michael (Kathy) Sheridan, grandchildren, Jessica, Stephen, John, Ella, Michael, great grandchildren, Maisie, Matilda and Nathan along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters Ruth Elms, Alice Fair, brothers, Ed Sheridan, Wallace Sheridan and grandchild Billy Sheridan.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wilkins for his time and dedication assisting with medications and consultations.

Visitation will take place at Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers on Wednesday August 12th from 5:00 – 7:00.
