Obituary

Youngstown - A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown for Virginia M. D'Amato, 85, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center on Wednesday morning. Virginia was born April 17, 1930 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Norman and Marie Barb Stafford. She lived in the area her entire life. She graduated from North High School and worked as a cashier and was a homemaker. Virginia loved to be with her family, enjoyed shopping, playing cards and dancing. She loved animals, especially her Great Danes and Siamese Cats. She married Joseph "Red" D'Amato on September 23, 1952 and he passed away on September 26, 1987. She leaves three sons, August (Liz) D'Amato of Youngstown, Dr. Adrian (Bobbie) D'Amato of New Middletown and Joseph (Rita) D'Amato of New Bedford, Mass. and four grandchildren, Dr. Andria D'Amato, Alexis D'Amato, Victoria D'Amato and Joseph D'Amato. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Norman Stafford. Friends may call one hour prior to the Memorial Service from noon – 1 p.m. at the funeral home on Saturday. The family wishes to extend sincere appreciation to St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center for the loving care they bestowed on Virginia.
