Visitation: Friends may call on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service, on Saturday.

PETERSBURG - Violet Z. Spaid, 81, passed away Tuesday at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center. Violet was born in Greenwich, PA. on May 27, 1928, a daughter of Elias and Resse Boring Keith. She married Thomas E. Spaid, Sr. on December 24, 1948 and was a member of Cornerstone Assembly of God. Violet leaves her son, Thomas E. (Tess) Spaid, Jr. of Alpharetta, GA; a daughter, Debbie Batterby of New Middletown; three brothers, Ron Keith of PA, Norman Keith of Girard, Elias (Junior) Keith of Hubbard; one sister, Josephine Elliott of PA, and three grandchildren, Adam Thomas, Kristina Marie and Kimberly Vanessa Spaid. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died October 24, 2008, parents, two deceased brothers, Jim and Wib Keith, two sisters, Gladys Fetterman and Evelyn Schrankle and one granddaughter, Ashley Marie Spaid.
