Struthers – A service will be held at 11:30 A.M. on Thursday at the Clemente Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon at Christ Our Savior Parish/St. Nicholas Church, both in Struthers, for Violet A. Carano, 90, who passed away on Sunday afternoon. Violet was born on January 1, 1925 in Hillsville, PA, a daughter of Dan and Mary Martin Creature. She came to Struthers in 1956 and was a homemaker. Violet was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish/St. Nicholas Church, its Altar and Rosary Society, Sacred Heart, the Renewal, Cursillo and she helped work at the festival since its inception. She volunteered at Boardman Community Care for 22 years and loved to cook and bake. Violet married Palmer D. Carano November 29, 1951 and he passed April 15, 1991. She leaves two sons, Albert Carano of Boardman, Patrick A. (Rose) Carano of Struthers and one grandson Patrick Carano. Violet was preceded in death by her parents, husband and an infant son, Palmer Carano, and three sisters, Lucy Romeo, Gloria Creature, and Alice Rauzan, Friends may call on Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:30 A.M., before the service at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.
