Petersburg - Thomas E. Spaid, 83, of Petersburg, passed away Friday at his home. Thomas was born in Thompsontown, Pa., a son of Earl and Elizabeth Edgar Spaid. He served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He was a truck driver for Ohio Fast Freight for many years and resided in the area his entire life. He married Violet Z. Keith on December 24, 1948. He was a member of the American Legion Post #15 in Poland, Ohio and a former member of the Cornerstone Church. Thomas leaves his wife, one son Thomas E. (Tess) Spaid of Alpharetta, GA., one daughter Debbie Batterby of Petersburg, one brother Richard (Delores) Spade of Clearwater, Fl., and three grandchildren, Adam, Christina, and Kimberly Spaid. He was preceded in death by his sister Geneva Rice and one grandchild Ashley Spaid.
