A memorial mass will be held Monday, December 26, 2016, at 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown for Thomas A. Sedlar, 84, who passed away Thursday afternoon at the Hospice House.
Thomas was born June 21, 1932, in Penowa, PA, a son of Andrew H. and Anna C. Kapina Sedlar. He came to this area in February of 1951. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict from 1953 to 1957. He retired as an engineer from the Erie Lackawanna Railroad after many years. He was a member of the St. Paul the Apostle Church where he helped with pierogies. He loved to garden, enjoyed polka music and watching bluebirds. Thomas was a man of many talents and could fix anything. He like to make people laugh.
Thomas married the former Evelyn J. Keith on June 16, 1962. Besides his wife, Evelyn, he leaves two daughters Beth Sedlar of Inwood, West Virginia and Lynette Bruce of Akron, two brothers Andrew (Shirley) Sedlar of Youngstown and Frank (Peggy) Sedlar of Austintown, one sister Dolores Petrus of Youngstown, one grandson, Justin, and the love of his life his granddaughter, Alison.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Josephine Papula and Marian Kozbial.
Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 am to 11:30 am.
