North Lima - Theresa Rita DeMartino, 86, of Assumption Village, formerly of Poland, passed away Friday morning at Assumption Village.

Theresa was born on Dec. 18, 1927 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Dominic and Rose Acierno Bontempo, who were born in Avilino, Italy.

She lived in the area her whole life and worked in retail at the May Company and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Holy Family Church in Poland, a member of the ITAM and was a volunteer for Hospice. She put God, family, and others before herself. Theresa was a power of example and an inspiration to all who knew her.

She leaves her children, Mary Ann (Gary) Wollett of Canfield, Anthony "Mooch" (Gail) DeMartino of Canfield, Mark (Dr. Julianne) DeMartino of Poland, Gary (Barbara) DeMartino of Beavercreek, OH, Robert (Valerie) DeMartino of Poland; thirteen grandchildren, William, Theresa, Joshua, Olivia, Francine, Theresa Ann, Mark, Gary, Seth, Elize, Nicole, Eric, Natalie and eight great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Josephine Sgambati of Girard.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Joseph DeMartino, who passed away Jan. 14, 2005; four sisters, Lena Garcia, Philomena  DeRamo, Grace Michalchick and Madeline Raghanti; three brothers, Steve, Anthony and Floyd Sgambati.
