Obituary

Struthers - Terri A. Shaffer, of Struthers, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on June 18, 2026, after a courageous year-long battle with Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC).

Born on May 24, 1968, in Youngstown, Ohio, Terri spent most of her life living and working throughout Youngstown and the surrounding communities.

Terri found joy in life's simple pleasures: a warm cup of sweet coffee, a crocheting bag filled with skeins of yarn and new patterns for making something special for someone she loved, baking fresh breads and cookies for her husband, Alan "Buff," and her grandchildren, and settling down with a good mystery novel by one of her favorite authors.

A devoted Christian, Terri loved sharing God's Word with everyone she met. She was never shy about expressing her faith, her love of the Bible, and God's promise of eternal life. If you had a question, Terri would gladly help you find the answer—always carefully verified through Scripture.

More than anything, Terri cherished time spent with family and friends. She had a remarkable ability to make people feel loved and welcomed. Those who knew her loved her in return. She gave generously to others, even when she had little herself, and when Terri loved someone, she loved them with her whole heart.

Terri leaves behind many family members and friends who will forever cherish the moments they shared with her, including her mother Wilma (Michael) Yonosik. Her beloved husband of 20 years, Alan R. "Buff" Shaffer of Struthers; her daughter, Jessica (James) Cessna of Boardman; her grandchildren, Valerie, James, and Evelyn Cessna of Boardman; her sisters, Tammy Wayland of Girard, Dawn (Stanley) Sykes of Canfield, and Denise Camacci of Austintown; her brothers, Michael Wick of Girard, David Wick of Austintown, and Michael (Stephanie) Yonosik of Austintown; her niece, Emma (Dominic) Cochrane of Englewood, Florida; her nephews, Arron Wayland of Girard, Michael (Gabi) Wick Jr. of Seminole, Florida, and Michael Yonosik Jr. of Girard; and her special friend, Andrea Lewinsky of Boardman.

She was preceded in death by her father David W. Wick. Her brother, Paul M. Wick. Her maternal grandparents Arlis and Virginia Hoover, and paternal grandparents David and Mildred Wick.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.
