Private services were held Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers for Sophie T. Neher, 87, of 5838 Poland Struthers Road, who passed away Saturday at St. Elizabeth Health Center. Sophie was born May 19, 1921 in Youngstown, a daughter of Matthew and Mary Elizabeth Jergus Sich Hudak. She married James Joseph Neher on August 23, 1941. She was a member of St. Nicholas Church and a member of the Alter and Rosary Society. Sophie leaves behind her daughter Patricia (Thomas) Zoblisien of Jacksonville, NC; one brother, Stephen Hudak of Youngstown; one sister Veronica Komara of Canfield; five grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Sophie was preceded in death by her husband James; four brothers, Joe Rehovsky, Albert Shuley, John Shuley and Victor Hudak; and two sisters, Rose Martinko and Mary Socash.
