STRUTHERS –A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our Savior/ St. Nicholas Church in Struthers for Rosalie Maczko, 86, who died Thursday at Maplecrest  surrounded by loved ones.

Rosalie was born Jan. 17, 1938 in Cleveland, a daughter of James and Pauline (Schmidt) Segreto. She met the love of her life and married George S. Maczko, Sr. on April 2, 1954 and made their home in Struthers.

Often working three jobs for over 25 years, Rosalie was an active member in her church St. Nicholas, the Rebekahs Lodge, St. Nicholas and Struthers Schools. She was a Cub Scout den mother, a member of the Kent State Mothers Club and St. Nicholas Altar Rosary Society. As a working mom, she was an inspiration to and loved by her family, neighbors and everyone that knew her.  Rosalie was a God mother of 7 children.

Rosalie leaves three daughters, Anna Marie (Richard) Allgood of Poland, Bernadette (Dale) Gottberg of Poland, Dawn Barbara (Larry Yates) Maczko of Youngstown; one son George S. (Tim Thurman) Maczko of Kennesaw; five grandchildren, Louis David Mastroberardino. Dale (Stephanie) Gottberg Jr., Erin Gottberg, Chad Gottberg, and Linda Allgood; five great-grandchildren Saint Scafuri, River Mastroberardino-Wheatcroft, Lincoln Garltic, Dale Gottberg III, and  Alexis Davis; and many nieces and nephews.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her loving husband of over sixty years George S. Maczko Sr., two children Paul K and Carolyn Maczko; two sisters, Barbara Bumblis and Alberta Segreto, one brother James Segreto, and one great grandson Richard Mastroberardino-Wheatcroft.

Friends may call one hour prior to the Mass on Thursday July 11th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our Savior/St. Nicholas Church 764 Fifth Street, Struthers.
