POLAND - Robert (Bob) Steele Sherry passed away at the Caprice Health Care Center in North Lima on Saturday morning. Bob was born on August 5, 1924 in McKees Rocks, PA, a son of Robert and Della Lucille Steele Sherry. He attended the Poland Seminary High School and served in the Navy during WWII. He worked for the Pennsylvania-Lake Erie Railroad until he went to work at Commercial Shearing in April, 1955, until his retirement on October 31, 1986. Bob had a great love of music and was a very talented singer and musician. He was an avid fisherman and a lover of all sports. Bob leaves a son, Michael of Unity, OH, a daughter, Kathi (Bob) Filar of Athens, OH and a son-in-law, Manuel Martinez of Hubbard; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;and several special neighbors; and all the friends he made while at Caprice. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and soul mate, Patricia Jean Michael Sherry, in 2004; a daughter, Debra; and a son, Shawn. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
