Struthers – A prayer service will be held Thursday morning at 9:30 am at Clemente Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial, at Christ Our Savior/ St. Nicholas Church at 10:00 am , both in Struthers, for Robert E. Lightner, 85, of Struthers who died at his residence on Saturday. Robert was born in Youngstown on July 15, 1929, a son of Robert and Mary Breckner Lightner. He graduated  from East High School in 1948 and married Eleanor E. Lamb on June 22, 1948. Robert worked as an inspector in the pipe department at Republic Steel and was retired. He was a member of Christ Our Savior/St. Nicholas Church.  He was an avid Ohio State, Cleveland Indian and Cleveland Brown's fan. Robert leaves three sons Robert W., Richard F. and Chris (Beverly) Lightner,  all of Struthers; three daughters Janet (Paul) Majirsky of Berlin Center, Catherine Harris of Campbell, and Laura Finn of St. Petersburg, FL,  18 grandchildren, 22 ½ great grandchildren and his beloved dog, Joy. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Eleanor, who died September 17, 2013. Friends may call at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers on Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
