Services: A rosary service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday evening at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.

Visitation: Friends may call Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.

STRUTHERS-Robert J. Koren, 78, passed away Wednesday at his home after a long illness. Mr. Koren,known as (Bob) or (Uncle Bob) to his large family, was born March 7, 1934 in Maple Sterling, PA, a son of Stephen and Bertha Podolinski Koren. He lived in the area his entire life and worked as a steelworker for the Youngstown Sheet and Tube for many years. Then he worked in inventory for the A.S.C. in North Jackson for 10 years. He was an active member of Holy Trinity Church in Struthers for most of his life. Bob enjoyed playing the (Button Box) and being involved in the Northside Struthers Club. He had an interest in airplanes, trains and World War II memorabilia. He enjoyed remodeling his home and dressing as Santa Claus through the years, but his greatest joy was his family and his grandchildren. Bob married the former Joan Almasy on May 12, 1956 and she passed away on November 29, 1997. He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Dori Biggs at home, Dr. Joni Koren and her husband, Dr. Tim O'Donnell of Troy; a brother, Dr. John Koren and his wife, Marcia of Rogers; a brother William Koren and his wife Evelyn of New Middletown; sisters Mary Jane Penman and her husband Jim of Struthers, Joann Evan and her husband John, Judy Davis and her husband Bob, both of Poland and Suzy Garchar and her husband, Ron of Austintown. He leaves his (four hearts), his four grandchildren, Jeni, Ryan (Christine) Sarah (Aaron) and Erin and a great-grandchild Owen Elswick. Bob will be sadly missed by his special companion, Neva Basista. He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen and Olga Koren, one brother Stephen (Jerry) Koren and several nieces and nephews.
