Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown.

New Springfield - robert E. Drnon, 85, passed away Sunday morning surrounded by his loving family at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Youngstown. Mr. Dornon, know as (Bob), was born March 4, 1926 in Alliance and was raised in Unity. His parents were George and Bina Dornon. He was a lifelong area resident. Bob worked for Wean United for 36 years and retired in 1992. He worked as a Field Service Engineer and installed Steelmill equipment overseas. He was proud to have served in the Marine Corp in the 3rd. Marine Division during World War II in Iwo Jima. He attended Calvary United Methodist Church in North Lima, and was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 417 F.&A.M. in East Palestine. Besides his wife, the former Marilyn Heberling, whom he married November 5, 1954, he leaves a son, Tom (Mary Ann) Dornon of New Middletown; two daughters, Debbie (Jim) Bacon of Petersburg and Jan (Rich) Moffett of East Palestine; five grandchildren, Kevin (Cris) Bacon, Tim (Kami) Bacon, Abby (Tino) Soto Pacheco, Travis Dornon and Jared Moffett. He also leaves two great-grandchildren, Coleman Bacon and Mia Soto Pacheco.
