BOARDMAN- Robert F. (Bob) Conway, Sr., 57, passed away Wednesday at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Youngstown. Bob was born December 17, 1954 in Youngstown, a son of Alvin C. and Ardis M. Lockhart Conway. He graduated from Cardinal Mooney High School in 1973 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Youngstown State University in 1987. He married Sharon McDonald on February 13, 1999. He graduated from the Academy on February 9, 1981 and was first commissioned on April 8, 1981. He was a deputy for the Mahoning County Sheriff since 1985 and was a member of the Mahoning County Sheriff's Dive Team for 20 years. He was a reserve officer for the Youngtown Police Departmen from 1995 to 1996. Bob volunteered with the records office for the reserves and for The Rayen School and East High School Bands. He was also an Ohio School Resource Officer aand a member of Ohio School Resource Association. He was a member of the Blue Knights. Bob's last gift of generosity was his donation to Life Banc. He loved his dogs and was a supporter of Paws and Prayers Rescue Group. Bob leaves his wife, Sharon; his four sons, Robert F. (Nicole) Conway, Jr. of New Waterford, Nicholas (Becky) Conway of East Palestine, Mason Hornyak of Youngstown, and Mark Conway of New Middletown; three daughters, Michelle (Lori) Powell of New Springfield, Nichole (William) Johnson of New Middletown, and Melissa Conway of Columbus; one sister, Judy Conway of Struthers; a niece, Brenda Bekoski; and nine grandchildren. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Esther M. Conway.
