Visitation: Friends may call two hours before the service at the Clemente Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

BOARDMAN - Phyllis Meli, 87, of Ron Joy Nursing Home, formerly from Struthers and Columbiana, passed away on Sunday morning at Ron Joy Nursing Home. Phyllis was born on November 12, 1921 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Nancy Costello. She was a homemaker and former member of St. Jude Church in Columbiana, Ohio. Phyllis married Jerry Meli in 1943 and he passed away in 2008. She leaves behind one son, Dennis S. (Linda) Meli of Poland, OH and one daughter Madelyn (William) Clarke of Girard, OH; one sister Caroline Smaldino of Struthers and five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband,one daughter Madeline Meli, two brothers Mike and Julius Costello and one sister Mary DeRamo.
