Services: A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. at Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.
Visitation: Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Struthers - Philip V. Mestrovich, 71, passed away Wednesday evening September 9, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Campus. Philip was born on March 5, 1938 in Youngstown, OH, a son of Vincent and Catherine Yakopatz Mestrovich. He lived in the area for most of his life and was the vice-president for the Local #99 for the Operating Engineers in Washington D.C. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and also boxed in the Navy. He loved all sports especially the Cleveland Indians and once played Minor League ball with the DC Athletics. He also coached little league baseball in Edgewater, Maryland and he was a member of St. Nicholas Church in Struthers. Philip married the former Martha A. Johnson in August of 1973 and they have been together for 47 years. He leaves two daughters, Catherine McAtee (Mark) Luick from Ann Arbor, MI and Karen Warren of Youngstown, OH; five grandchildren, Christina King, Jason King, Jennifer Paddy, and William Lee King and Matthew K. McAtee. Philip was preceded in death by his parents.
