BOARDMAN - Paul Joseph Kolarik, 86, of Greenbriar Healthcare Center, died May 28, 2011 at the Healthcare Center. Paul was born April 21, 1925 in Struthers, a son of the late Demo and Maria (Cmil) Kolarik. He resided in Lisbon for 30 years and New Middletown for 25 years. He was a 1942 graduate of Struthers High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan during World War II. After he was honorably discharged, he learned cabinetmaking at the New Castle School of Trades and was employed as the cabinetmaker at the Lisbon Lumberyard from 1948 to 1958. He owned and operated a poultry farm on Rt. 517 in Lisbon from 1958 to 1978. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed restoring antiques and collecting marbles, tools and oriental porcelains. He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Lou Holshue, whom he married June 7,1947; his children, Daniel Paul Kolarik (Sonia Zaremba) of San Juan Cosala, Mexico; David Joseph Kolarik (Janica Powers) of Canfield; and JoAnn Kolarik (Bart Gilmore) of Cortland; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Anna Kolarik; Pat Bartok; Kate DeMar; and Mary Yurcisin Turocy; and by a brother, Pete Kolarik. Also sister-in-law Gladys Kolarik and brothers-in-law Al Bartok, Frank Yurcisin and Bill Turocy.
