Visitation: Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.

NEW MIDDLETOWN - Patricia S. Opsitnik, 64, passed away Sunday evening at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center after a lengthy illness. Patricia was born October 23, 1946 in Youngstown, a daughter of Howard C. and Myrtle M. Petit O'Dea and lived in the area her entire life. She was in the last graduating class of the Youngstown Hospital Association in 1969 and was also the class president. She received a Bachelor of Applied Science at Youngstown State University and a BSN and MSN from Kent State University and other post-graduate studies. She taught at Choffin in the LPN Program and at the Hannah Mullins School of Practical Nursing. Patricia worked as an ER Nurse, Director of Nursing and was a Supervisor at multiple area hospitals. She was there at the beginning stages of Hospice. She was past president of the Ohio Nurses Association, District 3; was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and it's choir, vestry and other committees. Patricia leaves her father Howard, her husband, William G. Opsitnik, whom she married August 2, 1969; one son, William C. (Milissa) Opsitnik of Salem; one daughter, Katherine (Mike) Miller of Powell; two grandchildren, Cody and Ali Opsitnik; and her two beloved cats. She was a donor, giving the gift of sight for the Cleveland Eye Bank. Patricia was preceded in death by her mother and one brother, Thomas O'Dea.
