NEW SPRINGFIELD-Olive Merle Dobrich, 93, passed away Sunday evening at St. Mary's Alzheimer's Center in Columbiana. Olive was born on Feb. 26, 1919, in Short Creek, W.Va., a daughter of Hiram and Olive D. Terrill Brandon and came to this area in 1951. Olive married John A. Dobrich on Nov. 4, 1938 and he passed away on June 8, 1989. She was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and baking. Olive was also very creative with drawing. She leaves behind two daughters; Merle Ross of Aliquippa, PA and Elizabeth Fraley of New Springfield; a sister, Bett J. Martin of Wellsburg, W.VA; three grandchildren, Scott Ross, Kristin (Greg) Thompson and Ktie (Dale) Saari; and two great-grandchildren, William and Andrew Thompson. Olive was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Earl W. and Wiliam W. Brandon.
