YOUNGSTOWN - Miller M. Zaluski,88 of Youngstown passed away on Jan. 30, 2011 in Youngstown. Miller was born May 12, 1922 in Struthers, a son of Joseph and Mary Malek Zaluski. He graduated from Struthers High School in 1940. He served his country during World War II, entered into the Army 1942, attained the rank of Corporal T-5 with 446th Anti Aircraft Artillery Automatic Weapons Battalion, stationed stateside, went overseas 1944-1946, in the European Theatre and was awarded three Bronze Stars. Miller married Barbara J. Kolman on February 1, 1947. He worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube in the pipe finishing mill for 32 years, retiring in 1977. He was also co-owner of the Nebo Bar in the late 1940's. Miller was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Struthers. Miller was an avid reader, loved sports, especially the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns. He was proud of his Croatian heritage, attending many functions, enjoying the music and dancing Rolos. He hosted Croatian Radio hour on 90 Struthers WKTL Radio for 15 years. Miller was a lifetime memeber of the Croatian Fraternal Union and held various offices in the Local C.F.U. St. Joseph Lodge 504 of Struthers and presently was a member of C.F.U. St. George's Lodge 66 of Youngstown. He attended C.F.U. National Conventions and was elected to serve on the High Trial Board, Office of the National C.F.U. in Pittsburgh, PA. For 40 years Miller was an active member of Struthers VFW 3538 and served as Post Commander 1961-1962 and adjutant. Miller leaves his daughter, Rose Marie Millich of Winston Salem, North Carolina; one brother Walter (Amelia) Zaluski of Struthers and a daughter-in-law, Deborah Zaluski of Hartville; three grandchildren, Matthew and Abbey Zaluski of Hartville and Sherri Lane of Florida and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara, who died June 21, 2000, his son Dennis Zaluski, his daughter Shirley Reves and two brothers Carl and Joseph. A special thanks is extended to his very dear friends Rose Zaluski and Marsha and Cliff Vanwinkle.
