YOUNGSTOWN - Michael P. Yaniglos, 86, died peacefully at home Sunday with his beloved wife by his side. Michael was born on September 3, 1924, in Campbell, a son of Martin and Anna Krayach Yaniglos. He lived in the area his whole life and worked as a lst class pipe fitter for Republic Steel for 41 years before retiring. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II, and took part in the Battles of Iwo Jima and Saipan. He was a member of St. Nicholas Church; was a senior member of the Lowellville Rod & Gun Club; APCO Fish and Wildlife Conservation Club; NRA National Rifle Association; Mahoning Sportsman Association in Hillsville, PA and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a former Deputy Sheriff. Michael leaves behind his beloved wife of 61 years, the former Viola V. Flasher, whom he married on Nov. 7, 1948; his two sisters Rose Yaniglos and Betty (Joseph C.) Tomko, both of Campbell, his sister-in-law, Anna Marie Yaniglos of Boardman; and nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Martin and Julie Yaniglos; two sisters, Helen Yaniglos and Stella Klaiban.
