BOARDMAN - Michael Hromyak, 81, passed away on Friday after a brief illness. Mike was born Sept. 14, 1930, in Struthers, the son of Mike and Mary (Lucas) Hromyak and youngest of five children. Mike graduated from Struthers High School in 1949, and that's where he met Rosemary Chuey, the woman who made his life complete. A U.S. Marine, Corporal Mike proudly served from 1951 to 1953, receiving a National Defense Service Medal upon honorable discharge. Mike was a grat provider for his family, spending most of his career as a skilled union steelworker. Mike enjoyed life to its fullest. Fisherman Mike caught lots of Walleye and good conversation over the years. Hunter Mike loved pursuing the Christmas goose. Mike also enjoyed dancing to polkas at McMenamy's, Bessemer Croation Club and SNPJ. Mike also liked feeding the ponies at the local race track. If you happen to catch Mike at home, he was either in the garden, listening to polkas on the back patio or watching the Tribe on TV. Otherwise, Mike was flying high to visit his kids across the USA. He's flying way higher now. Mike was a member of the Holy Family Roman Catholic Church in Poland. Mike is survived by his wife, Rosemary, after 55 wonderful years of marriage and life memories. Father is survived by his daughter, Michelle of Williston S.C. son, Daniel (Aysegul) of Pismo Beach, Calif. and son, Thomas of Tarpon Springs, Fla. Grandpa leaves behind six grandchildren, including Andrew, Benjamin, Ryan, Karina, Nicholas, and Jake. Mike is survived by his sister, Ann Shuluga, the family mainstay. Also, Uncle Mike is survived by niece, Audrey Ann (Shuluga) Smith, his personal nurse practitioner who always kept a watchful and caring eye on him. Mike is also survived by many other fine nieces; nephews; and brothers and sisters-in-law. Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Gura and brothers, Steve and John (Feathers) Hromyak.
