Visitation: Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m at the Funeral Home on Thursday,one hour prior to the service.

NEW SPRINGFIELD - Mary E. Ferko, 83, passed away Sunday at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Youngstown. Mary was born July 18, 1928 in New Springfield, a daughter of Mato and Rose Rozman Balasko and was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the church and had belonged to the Croatian Club. She enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. Her husband Thomas Ferko, Sr., whom she married July 20,1957, passed away on August 8, 1981. Mary is survived by her son, Thomas, Jr. and his fiancee, Tracey Sciaretta of North Lima; her daughter Barbara Ferko, at home, and her fiance Charles (Chachi) Shasho; a sister, Pauline Jurich of Poland and a brother, Joseph Balasko of North Lima. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Anna White and Caroline Matock and a brother Paul Balasko.
