Obituary

New Springfield - Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at the Evergreen Seventh Day Adventist Church in Boardman for Mark Raleigh Davis, 76 who passed away May 19, 2017 at Select Specialty Hospital in Boardman, Ohio after an extended illness.

Mark was born September 2, 1940 in Wheatland, PA, a son of Mark N. and Florence Covington Davis.

He married the former Lynda Mohney on July 25, 2004 in Boardman, Ohio. Mr. Davis attended Wheatland Elementary School, Farrell Jr. High and graduated in 1958 from Farrell High School.

Mark was first employed at Wheatland Tube and then as a draftsman, designing and building car washes, for N S Car Wash and later worked for the Heltzel Steel Company. He then drove limousine for several companies, then becoming an independent driver and driving primarily for Flora Carfaro of Brookfield for 12 years before retiring in 2014.

He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and was especially known for his dancing. He loved to go camping and fishing. To him the most important thing in life was his love for his Savior Jesus Christ.

In April 2016 he was baptized into the Seventh Day Adventist Church and attended Boardman Evergreen Church where he was actively involved with Food Pantry.

Mark is survived by his wife, one daughter Tracy (Joe) DelSignore of Hubbard; sons, Albert (Annette) of Lordstown, David of Missouri, Thomas (Cynthia) of Wheatland, PA,

Ian B. Davis of New Springfield; and by his step-daughters, Donna of Wilpin, PA, Kristi of North Lima; step-sons, Keith (Kelly) of Columbiana, OH, Leslie (Tammy) of East Palestine, William (Sandy) of East Palestine and Kenneth Mohney of Atlanta, GA and Justin English of Florida. He had 11 grandchildren; 14 step-grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 7 step great-grandchildren. Also,  one sister Joan (Charles) Eckles of Hermitage and numerous nieces and nephews. He was always the "fun uncle" and will be missed.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Alice Snyder, and one brother James Davis.

Friends may call on Wednesday in church, two hours before the service from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.
