New Middletown - A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 2 ^nd at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown for Mariel C. Goist, 86, who passed away Saturday evening at home.

Mariel was born October 22, 1930 in San Francisco, CA, a daughter of Lawrence "Buck" and Katherine Schuller Minera.

She came to Youngstown as a child with her parents and was a 1948 graduate of South High School. She worked as a printing press operator at Postal Church Services in Boardman and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.

Mariel married Donald J. Goist on May 17, 1952 and he died April 7, 1974.

She leaves two daughters, Karen Lynn Goist of New Middletown and Nancy L. Biegenwald of Shreveport, LA and two grandchildren, Dawn M. Biegenwald and Michael Biegenwald.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a half-brother Karl Kasch.

Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. before the service.
