Services: Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the Clemente Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:30 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish/St. Nicholas Church, both in Struthers.

Visitation: Friends may call on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.

STRUTHERS-Maria Avolio Ciccone, 87, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2013, comforted by her beloved son, Sergio. Maria was born March 17, 1926, in Pacentro, Italy, to the late Franco and Albina Avolio. Maria and her husband, Carlo, brought their young family to the United States in 1956 and settled in Struthers. Maria was a gifted seamstress employed by Creed the Cleaner, where loyal customers trusted her with their clothing alternations and repairs for 35 years. She was a proud member of the Youngstown Pacentrano Club and a faithful congregant of Christ Our Savior Parish/St. Nicholas Church. Maria is survived by her son, Sergio Ciccone, of Charlotte, N.C.; a daughter-in-law Patricia Zupan-Ciccone of Middlebury, VT; a granddaughter Marisa Zupan-Ciccone of Brooklyn, NY, and several nieces and nephews in the United States, Italy and Australia. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carlo Ciccone, son Franco Ciccone, sisters Angela (Nicola) Corsetti, Anna (Stefano) Rubino and Rosolina Avolio and a brother, Antonio (Carmela) Avolio. The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at the Cleveland Clinic, Levine Cancer Institute in Charlotte, N.C. and Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region for their care and guidance.
