Services: Services will be held Saturday at 9:15 a.m. with a Panachida service at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers. A mass will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church in Boardman.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers, where a Parastas service with Rev. Christopher Burke will be held at 7:00 p.m.
STRUTHERS - Margaret J. Poorman, 88, of Struthers passed away Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman. Margaret was born April 19, 1922 in Ramey, PA, a daughter of Walter and Mary Homa Chihon. She attended Ramey High School, where her friends fondly named her (Legs). She graduated at the top of her class in 1939. She married James F. Poorman on August 18, 1941 and was married to him for 62 years. Margaret was a long time member of the Greek Catholic Union, and an honorary member of the Mother of God Society of St. Mary's Ukranian Byzantine Church in Ramey, and a current member of Infant Jesus of Prague Byzantine Catholic Church in Boardman. Her great love was growing and admiring the roses in her garden. Margaret leaves her son, John Poorman of Smithfield, Ohio; her daughter, Karen (Russell) Kihm of Youngstown; a brother, Walter (Stella) Chihon of Bellwood, PA; a sister, Betty Chihon of Philadelphia; four grandchildren, Christina Poloski, Kari (Rocco) Catanzariti, Nicole Poorman and Mary Poorman; two great grandchildren, Jessica and Jami Smeltzer; three very special cousins, Gene, Ronald and Elaine Homa; along with three very special friends, Edward Skoloda, Jr., Mary Revak and Rosie Bungo. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James who died July 17, 2002; her son, The Very Reverend Cannon Father James E. Poorman; a brother, John R. Shihon; a sister, Katie Walk, formerly of Washington D.C.; and a grandson, James E. Poloski.
