Services: Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Clemente Funeral Home, Struthers and 10:00 a.m. at Christ Our Savior/Holy Trinity Church in Struthers.

Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home in Struthers.

STRUTHERS - Louie Retort, 87, passed away Friday at his home. Louie was born August 8, 1924 in Erskine Quarry, PA and was a lifelong area resident. He was a son of Joseph and Julia Augustine Retort. He came to Struthers from Lowellville in 1947. Louie had worked for the Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company as a crane operator and a foreman for 43 years and retired in 1983. His wife the former Mary A. Mediate, whom he married Sept. 6, 1947, passed away on August 3, 2000. Louie was proud of his military service during World War II. He had served as a member of the Army Air Corps,then brought his patriotism home to the V.F.W. Post 3538 in Struthers, where he had been Commander from 1992 to 1994. He had also been a proud member of American Legion Post 245 in Lowellville, the St. Anthony's Bocce league and the the Johnson Club in Hillsville, PA. He had also been a member of St. Nicholas Church in Struthers for most of his life. Louie leaves three daughters, Joyce Cahill (Bob) of Longview, Texas and Mary Lou Luc and Roxanne George (Lou), both of Struthers; and six grandchildren, Jana Cahill, Michelle Lipka, Ken Mediate, Mandy Barone, Jessica Guire and Lisa Cappitti. He also leaves 16 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Rocco and Patsy Retort,a stepbrother, Orlando Cola; three sisters, Angeline Krpicak, Anna Yemma and Mary Amendola.
