Boardman – A prayer service will be held on Friday at 9:30 a.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Angela Merici @ Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Youngstown, for Lois J. Ferry, 78, who passed away on Monday afternoon. Lois was born December 25, 1936 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of Frederick Lee and Ella O'Keefe Smith. She retired from J C Penney Company at the Southern Park Mall after 30 years of working in the restaurant and then in the Girl's Department. She was a 50 year member of St. Angela Merici @ Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was a member of a card club, cooking club with friends and she enjoyed bowling, bingo and baking. Lois liked to spend time with her grandchildren, great grandson and family and friends. Lois married Irwin "Sky" Ferry on June 30, 1954 and he passed away on April 26, 1994. She leaves one daughter Barbara J. "Bobbie" (William) Kelly of Boardman, OH; one brother, George H.Smith of North Lima, OH; two grandchildren, Dr. Brandy L. (Ciprian) Gilea of Canfield, OH, Jamie L. (Matthew) Paullin of Berea, OH; one great grandson, Luca Gilea and a future great-granddaughter baby Paullin. She also leaves many family and friends. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Frederick Lee Smith, Jr.; two sisters, Bernice "Bea" Comstock and Mary Ellen Smith. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Assumption Village and everyone from Hospice of the Valley. Friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers.
