New Springfield – Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at the New Hope Community Church, 493 Bev Road, Boardman, Ohio 44512, for Leonard H. Perdue, 77, who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 11, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at the Hospice House.
Leonard was born on August 30, 1938, Bluefield, West Va., a son of the late Geneva Williams Perdue.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1962 and worked at Barth Farms, Alliance Electric and the Columbiana Pump Company. He loved the sports of bowling and golfing; he enjoyed camping and the restorations of a 1949 Ford, woodworking and playing games with his grandchildren.
Leonard married the former Betty J. Beasley Perdue on May 4, 1957.
Besides his wife, he leaves two daughters, Linda (Tom) Savaet of New Middletown, Cathy (Mark) Skidmore of Covington, Louisiana; a sister Norma Walker of Bluefield, VA.; seven grandchildren, April (Jack), Paul (Jill), Ethan, Dustin (Kim), Jeremy, Hilary and Joel; and five great grandchildren, Kaytlin, Aidan, Landon, Mia and Charlotte and his beloved dog, Penny
Leonard was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers, Alfred and Jerry Perdue.
Friends may call on Friday at the church, New Hope Community Church in Boardman from 6:00 to 8:00 P. M.
