Services: Services will be on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers where Rev. Gary Rozier of Hospice will officiate.

Visitation: Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Austintown - Lena Lavardio Nero, 80, passed away Sunday morning at the Briarfield Manor where she had been a resident for the last 19 months. Lena was born on August 10, 1928 in Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Joseph and Phyllis LaPolla Lavardio. She grew up in the Briar Hill area, but spent a good part of her life as a resident of Lowellville. She was a homemaker and at one time a member of the choir for Kathryn Kulhman Ministries. Lena married Ralph Nero on October 8, 1974 and he passed away on December 31, 1989. Lena is survived by two sisters Mary Bowell of the Marian Living Center in North Lima and Josephine Peplow of Cape Coral, FL., and several nieces and nephews throughout the country. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-father James Pascarella, a brother Nicholas Lavardio and three sisters Caroline Vanick, Jane Lavardio and Carmel Tatar.
