Julie was born June 4, 1914 in Superior, PA, a daughter of Michael and Pauline (Popovich) Sheppa. Julie was a 1932 graduate of Chaney High School and attended Youngstown Business School. She was the Secretary for the Youngstown Carpatho-Ruthenian young adult group, served as an administrative assistant to former Congressman Michael J. Kirwan and worked at the Youngstown Letter Shop. She was an avid reader, an accomplished bridge player and shared a love of nature and bird watching with her sister, Mary. Julie was devoted to her family and friends. She utilized her business acumen and government administrative knowledge to help senior family members and friends navigate through the Medicare and Social Security maze. She loved the Cleveland Indians and politics. When her eye sight failed her and she could no longer read she lived by the radio listening to the Tribe and talk radio and could tell you who was going to win an election and why, as well as, who was not hitting for the Indians. Julie was always impeccable dressed and was very particular about where and what she ate. She weighed the same her entire adult life, 95 lbs.
