Obituary

Columbiana - Joyce Ann Leasure, 75, of Columbiana, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on September 9, 1950, Joyce lived a life defined by compassion, faith, and unwavering dedication to others. Joyce is survived by her husband Howard, with who she shared many years of love and partnership who remained by her side through it all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dorothy Kroesen, who instilled in her the values of kindness and hard work that she carried throughout her life.

Joyce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her. She leaves behind a large and loving family who will cherish her memory forever, including her seven children: Howard Leasure Jr. Salem, Melissa Berg (companion Paul) Wellsville, Jennifer Dickey (David) Columbiana, Christine Martin (Jonathan) New Springfield, John Leasure, Columbiana, Matthew Leasure, Akron, and Robert Leasure, New Waterford. Her legacy of love, strength, and compassion lives on through them. She was also a proud grandmother to 15 grandchildren and a beloved great-grandmother to her three great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy. She absolutely loved watching the girls dance or any of the grandkids at a sport event.

A graduate of New Springfield High School, Joyce devoted much of her life caring for others. She worked at Maple Crest Nursing Home in Struthers and later at McDonalds on the Ohio Turnpike, where her warm personality touched the lives of coworkers and customers alike. Her true calling, however, was her role as a foster parent. Over the years, Joyce opened her heart and home to more than 200 children in Columbiana and Mahoning County, offering them love, stability, and hope.

A woman of strong faith, Joyce served as a Sunday School teacher from many years, guiding and inspiring countless children in their spiritual journey. Her kindness extended to everyone she met, and she will be remembered for her gentle spirit and generous heart.

For the past three years, Joyce was lovingly cared for by her devoted caretaker Brenda, whose compassion  and dedication meant so much to both Joyce and her family. The Family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Traditions Health for their care, support, and kindness during this time. Joyce will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her strength, her dedication to her family, and the countless ways she made those around her feel loved and cared for. She will be dearly missed and forever held in the hearts of her family and friends.
