Youngstown – A prayer service will be held Tuesday, September 9th at 7:00 pm at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers for Joyce E. Thomas, who entered eternal rest on Friday, September 5th, at her home.

Joyce was born September 24, 1955 in Youngstown, a daughter of Andrew and Lois Hartman (née Boulton).

She graduated from Struthers High School in 1973 and married Daniel Thomas on April 19, 1975.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this year.  Joyce found her happiness in homemaking and raising her family.  She loved to shop, especially for a good bargain or thrifted item.  She was a collector of many things, including trinkets, oddities, newspaper clippings, and random information.  She was quiet by nature but was quick-witted with a good sense of humor.  She enjoyed going to the movies and live music performances, and spending time with her grandson.

She leaves behind her husband, Daniel; her two daughters, Stacey (Kevin) Finch of Clayton, OH, and Diane (Edward) Dick of Brunswick, OH; and her cherished grandson, Eddy Dick, who fondly called her "Granny Elaine." She is also survived by her brother, Bob (Ruth) Hartman of Youngstown; sisters, Rita (Patrick) Houk of Salem and Mary Ann Turney (partner Jose) of Mineral Ridge; her mother-in-law, Eleanor Thomas; sisters-in-law Cheryl Tarajack and Dolly Muntean; brother-in-law Gary Muntean; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Gary and Bill; her father-in-law, Richard Thomas; and her brother-in-law, Steve Tarajack.

Friends and family may call prior the prayer service on Tuesday, September 9, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Clemente Funeral Home at 700 Fifth Street in Struthers, 44471.
