Services: Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 15th at the Gospel Baptist Church, 6235 Clingan Road, Poland, Ohio.
Visitation: Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14th, 2008 at the Clemente Funeral Home, 700 Fifth Street, Struthers, Ohio.
Westerville - John T. Scott, 79, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 9, 2008. Jack was born January 13th, 1929 to Flaval Pearl Tullis and George Sangster Scott and was a Lifetime resident of Youngstown. He served in the Army during World War II, doing a tour of duty in the Philippines before returning home to marry his beloved wife Rose who preceded him in death last year after 59 years of marriage. Jack attended Youngtown State University and worked for many years as the security manager at Aeroquip Rubber subsequently retiring from security at the Youngstown Hospital Association. Jack was very active in the Gospel Baptist Church, Poland and for many years led the Golden Eagles Senior Group at that church. Jack was an accomplished gospel singer with a strong tenor voice and often sang at local churches and Christian organizations. Jack is survived by his two sons, John Jack and wife Janie of Arcadia, CA., and Tom and wife Connie of Naples, FL.; a daughter Jennifer and son-in-law Kirk Iler of Westerville, OH.; seven grandchildren, Jown W. and Andrew Scott, Tom (Eris) Scott, Jr., Heather (Tyler) Perkins, and Clayton and Clifford (Taylor) McGowen, and Amy (Seth)McKinney-Iler and four great-grandchildren, Chandler Scott, Thomas G. Scott, III., Lauren Perkins and Caitlin Perkins. He is also survived by his sister Anita Calibis of Erie, PA. and brother Neal Scott of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brother; George, David, Bob and Richard. Most recently he was living at the Worthington Christian Village in Worthington, Ohio. Jack's love for his wife was only exceeded by his love for the Lord. He actively sought to share God's love with everyone he met.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Gospel Baptist School, 6235 Clingan Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514
