NEW MIDDLETOWN-John Lester Mummey, 92, went to be with his Lord on November 25, 2013. He was born on April 10, 1921, to Alverta and Clarence Mummey in Nesopeck, PA, where he spent his childhood. His family moved to Enon Valley, PA, and it was there he met the love of his life, Augustina Kuderca. They married on Dec. 30, 1950 and raised three children, Julie Ann, Janet Lynn and Timothy Mark. They lived in rural Enon Valley for the rest of their lives, until health reasons forced a move to nursing care. Augustina recently passed away on July 26, 2013. John worked for many years as an independent truck driver, working primarily in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York, hauling raw materials for the industries. He loved his family especially being PapPap to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him so much joy. He really enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends as long as he could. His hunting camp, the Kane Hilton was the site of many outings, where John cooked up his infamous (unidentified frying objects) for his guests. That's probably why the outhouse is a two-holer! He liked country music, westerns and pickup trucks. He will be remembered for his crazy sense of humor and loving to laugh. He served as trustee for the Enon Valley Bible Presbyterian Church, where he was a member for many years. He was a born again Christian man and we are blessed to know that he is in heaven rejoicing with his wife and loved ones. Surviving family members include children, Julie and Dennis Coleman of Grand Junction, Colo., Janet Kirns of Lowellville, and Thimothy and Georgene Mummey of Poland; grandchildren, Rebecca and Bill Baird of Poland, Melissa and Todd Haverdill of Brecksville, Megan Frataroli of Lowellville, and Joshua Mummey of Ferndale, Mich; great-grandchildren, Ryan George, Lily Baird, Zoe Baird, Lea Haverdill, Kyla Haverdill, and Livia Haverdill; sisters, Emma May Pierce, Mary Lonkert, Betty Shasteen, Joan Evritt, and Nancy Dillingham; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased family members include his wife, Augustina; his parents; brother Samuel and sister Jean Hawk.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to: Hospice of the Valley 5190 Market Street Youngstown, Ohio 44512 They kindly provided much comfort and care to him.
