POLAND - John T.(Jack) (The Legend) Garthwaite, Jr. of Poland passed away Wednesday at Hospice House. John was born on September 25, 1937 in Youngstown, a son of John T. and Rose Garthwaite, Sr. He served in the Navy and married Mary Zuccaro on December 7, 1967. John was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in New Middletown and the VFW Post 2799 in New Springfield. John leaves his wife Mary, two sons, Joseph (Lori) Blinsky of Boardman, James (Cathy) Blinsky of Randolph, OH; three daughters, Maria (Rick) Paes, Jackie (Brian) Johnson and Chrissy (Paul) Zubick, all of New Middletown; three brothers, Tony Garthwaite of Berlin Center, Timmy (Diane) Garthwaite of Youngstown and Mike Garthwaite of Poland; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandson. John was preceded in death by his parents and sister Beverly Brown.
