PETERSBURG-John L. Flickinger, 71, of Petersburg passed away at his residence on Wednesday morning. John was born on April 14, 1941, a son of Edward M. and Edna Jones Flickinger in Youngstown. He was a truck driver for 55 years and was the owner and operator of Flickinger Trucking for 25 of those years. He has been retired for 3 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and playing in the yard with his best friend, Tippy. John leaves his wife Evelyn, whom he married on July 28, 1989; six children, Jake, Bill, Darin, Diane, David and Marc; two brothers Gary and Robert; two sisters Bonnie and Judy; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his parents. The family wishes to thank Southern Care Hospice for the care that they showed John during his illness.
