Services: Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home and at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Our Savior Parish, both in Struthers.

Visitation: Friends may call on thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home on Friday morning.

STRUTHERS-John (Yank) Daliman, 87, was born Feb. 13, 1925, in Burgettstown, PA, a son of Slovak immigrants, Paul and Anna Milcho Daliman. The family moved to Struthers when John was a child. Upon graduation from Struthers High School in 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he proudly served his country during World War II in the South Pacific as a Corporal. Upon discharge in 1946, he enrolled at South Daota State University. He was conferred degrees in Agriculture and Journalism in 1950. He moved back to Struthers and married his sweethart, Helen Calhoun, on Aug. 21, 1954. together they had four children. In 1965, he graduated from Youngsown College with a degree in education. He then continued his lifetime of service by becoming an outstanding math and science teach, mostly in the Struthers school system. He also coached football and baseball, and was an athletic trainer. His accomplishments were honored with his induction into the Struthers Athletic Hall of Fame in 1985. the Sports Medicine Clinic in the Struthers High School Athletic Center also bears his name. He was an active member at St. Nicholas Parish, where he was a Eucharistic Minister. He was a Lector at Sts. Peter and Paul Church in Struthers. He was a member of the Youngstown Cursillo movement, serving many positions at various Cursillos, including Rector. Among many other activities, he was a member S.P.E.B.S.Q.S.A. and Struthers Athletic Club. He leaves his wife of 58 years, and four children, Atty. John P. (Jean)of Canfield, Daniel (Debotrah)of Gilbert, Ariz., Thomas (Christine) of Campbell, and Marianne (Jeffrey) Kieffer of Dublin. He is also survived by six grandchildren, amanda, Dr. Amy and Lauren Daliman and Emily, John and Samiel Kieffer. He was very proud that two granddaughters succeeded im as teachers. He also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Paul; sister Helen Soldo; and grandson Justin Mistovich. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the staffs at Omni Manor and Omni West Assisted Living Centr, as well as Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care provided.
