BOARDMAN - John P. Colista, 83, passed away on Tuesday evening at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center .
John was born December 12,1930 in Youngstown,OH a son of Dominic and Antoinette DeCato Colista. He lived in the Youngstown area his entire life.John was a proud 1949 graduate of East High School where he played in bans, sang and was always acting in school plays. He attended Youngstown College and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a Central Office Technocian at AT & T on Ryan Ave in Youngstown for 36 years. He was a past member of the St. Anthony's Men's Sociaty in Struthers and was an active member of the East High School Alumni Association. He often attended breakfast with his East High School Alumni and his many friends from Ohio Bell and AT& T. He enjoyed meeting his friends every Saturday morning for coffee.
Upon retirement John spent all his time loving and caring for his grandsons. He cheered them on at every football, baseball and basketball game in which they played and never missed a school function in which they were involved. He devoted his whole life to his grandsons teaching them how to swim, ride a bike and most recently drive a car.
John married the former Teresa A. Clemente on February 8, 1964; she preceded him in death on February 27,2013.
John leave two daughters Maria(Frank) Constantino of Poland and Lori Ann Kopp of Boardman, and two grandchildren Johnny and Joseph Kopp. He also leaves three nieces; two nephews; and their families, whom he adored and loved.
He was prceded in death by his parents and one sister Jeanette carella.
