NEW MIDDLETOWN-Joan M. Yankle, 80, passed away on Monday evening at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center in Youngstown. Joan was born on February 6, 1933 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of Daniel and Mary Walski O'Nesti. She lived in the area her whole life and was a homemaker. Joan was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and its Altar Guild and a Pirohy worker. She graduated from East High School in 1951 with honors. Joan was a cheerleader, because there were not many girls sports back then. Joan boarded the Queen Mary in New York for her voyage to England, where she lived for three years while her husband was in the Air Force. While there, she toured Europe and witnessed Queen Elizabeth's coronation in 1953. After her daughter Lynne passed away suddenly, at the age of 33, it broke her heart. Joan quit her job and devoted her life to raising Lynne's 2 1/2 year old daughter, Kayla. She always bragged about her birthday card she received from President Ronald Reagan, because they shared the same birthday, and the picture whe took with the Steelers, Rocky Blier. She also bragged the most about her perfect children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Joan leaves one son, Frank T. (Karen) Yankle, Jr. of Canfield; a daughter Lorraine Keen of Marco Island, FL. Joan was preceded in death by her other daughter Lynne Yankle Lundy. She also leaves one brother Daniel(Kathy) O'Nesti of Hubbard, OH, one sister Dolores Procick of Poland; four grandchildren, Lindsey(Brian)Ambrosia, Lorin(Joel)Kendall, Landry Yankle and Kayla Lundy; three great grandchildren Dominic, Daniel and Elle.
