Services: A mass of Christian burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday at Christ Our Savior Parish (St. Nicholas Church) in Struthers.

Visitation: There will be no public visitation.

STRUTHERS-Joan Avritt, 93, of Struthers passed away at her residence on Saturday night. Joan was born April 20, 1920, in Leetonia, a daughter of Matthew and Lucy Giambattista. She married John T. Avritt on June 1, 1946 and she was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish(St. Nicholas Church). Joan leaves one son, John (Mary Ellen) Avritt from Houston, TX; one daughter, Bonnie (Jim) Gillis of Houston, TX; a daughter-in-law, Marilou Avritt of Southington; two brothers, Alex (Margie) Giambattista of Youngstown and Michael (Anita) Giambattista of Boardman; one sister Grace Ferenchak of Youngstown and 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John, who died December 2, 2008; a son Tom, who died May, 2011; two brothers, Tony and Gabe Giambattista and a sister, Kay Paul.
