Petersburg – Jesse J. Nelson, 91, died September 11, 2024 Wednesday, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman.

Jesse was born May 21, 1933, in Linesville, PA, a son of Luther and Emma Wilfong Nelson.

He graduated high school and joined the Army. He worked as a truck driver for Thompson Mining and Snyder Farms, from where he retired.

Jesse married Marcia Moore on October 26, 1987.

He enjoyed working outside, tinkering with cars and going out to eat.

Jesse leaves his wife Marcia, a son Terry (Diana) Woods of Columbus, a daughter Susan (Leonard) Logsdon of Columbus, and two granddaughters Lauren and Megan Logsdon.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings Rella Phillips, Strossie Taylor, Emma Romeo, Edgar Lee Nelson, Virgil Nelson and Marie Phares.
