Services: Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Clemente Funeral Home in Struthers. A prayer service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lake Park Cemetery following the prayer service.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home before the service.
YOUNGSTOWN -Janis E. (Jan) Filipcich, 64, passed away on Monday morning at the St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Janis was born on Oct. 16, 1947 in Youngstown, a daughter of Nevin E. and Gertrude E. Rosine Lynn. She lived in the area her whole life and formerly worked as an Environmental Aide for Ron Joy Nursing Home. She was a member of the F.O.E. No 213 in Youngstown and enjoyed bingo, traveling and going on bus trips to the Seneca Casno. Janis married Thomas (Flip) Filipcich in 1981 and he passed away in 2007. Janis leaves her three sons, Frank (Carol) Bass of North Carolina, Gary (Joyce) Bass of Girard and Terry (Karen) Bass of Poland; her three daughters, Tina (David) Pekarcik of Boardman, Kathy (Tim) Thomas of Howland and Debra Stilson of Leetonia; her fiance, Perry Rouns of Youngstown; one sister, Gayle (Howard) Goist of Girard; also 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Janis was preceded in death by her prents; husband; one grandson, Frank Bass,Jr.; and a great-grandchild, Zoe Lynn.
