New Middletown – Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown for Ila Rae Turner, 87, who passed away at the Masternick Memorial Health Care Center on Sunday morning. Ila was born on December 14, 1927 in Youngstown, OH, a daughter of Lester and Marie Crawford Ewing. She lived in the area her whole life and was a graduate from the Boardman High School in 1945 and the Youngstown Hospital Association School of Nursing as an RN in 1949. She worked at South Side Hospital in the emergency room and out patient clinics for 35 years and retired in 1991. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in New Middletown. Ila was also a member of the Red Hats, the Retired Registered Nurses Association and the Christian Women's Association. Ila married George Ford Turner on November 5, 1949 and he passed away December 16, 1998. She leaves two sons, Gary F. Turner of Youngstown, OH and Lester G. Turner of Chesterton, Indiana, along with 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Ila was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Friends may call on Thursday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home in New Middletown and on Friday one hour before the service at the funeral home from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.
