New Middletown - In memory of Ida Mae Metz who passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025
Ida Mae was born August 18, 1930 in New Middletown, Ohio the daughter of James and Helen Simcox.
She lived in New Middletown most of her life. Ida Mae was a graduate of Springfield Local High School and the Akron City Hospital School of Nursing. Ida Mae worked as a visiting nurse before joining the staff of the Western Reserve Care System where she worked for 37 years before retiring in 1990. Ida Mae was a life- long member of Old Springfield Church where she was a member of the choir and served of the church board. Ida Mae also belonged to the Retired Nurses group of Youngstown.
She was survived by her daughter Beverly(Dan)Patoray of New Middletown and daughter Karen Melik of Tucson Arizona, Grandchildren Matthew and Jessica Patoray also of New Middletown and Kyle Melik of Tucson Arizona and Great-grand-daughter Gwendolyn Rose Patoray.
Preceding her in death were her former husband Russell Metz died in 2001, brothers Harold, William and Lewis and sisters, Mary Jane, Twila and Louise.
The family would like to thank the staff of St.Mary's Alzheimer's Center, The Memory Care Unit of The Poland Village Inn, and Hospice Care from Compassus for the wonderful compassionate care she received.
A celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday April 11th, 2026, from 1-3 pm at Old Springfield Church on Youngstown- Pittsburgh Rd., New Middletown, OH.
Arrangements handled by Clemente Funeral Home in New Middletown.
